4.19 - Acts 2:1-21, 37-41 // The Spirit's Arrival

The Spirit has come, and nothing stays the same.  In Acts 2, we see the arrival of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the beginning of the church’s bold public witness. What happened in Jerusalem that day was not random. It was the fulfillment of God’s plan, the promise of Jesus, and the moment the Gospel began moving forward in power.  In this message, Steve Maharrey walks through Acts 2:1-21, 37-41 and shows how the Holy Spirit leads, empowers, convicts, and draws people to Jesus. The same Spirit who filled the early church is still at work today.

In this sermon:

* Why God chose Pentecost for the Spirit’s arrival
* How the giving of the Spirit connects to the giving of the Law
* What the gift of tongues meant in Acts 2
* Why Peter’s boldness changed everything
* How the Holy Spirit gives believers power to witness
* Why the cross of Christ is still the way home  Series: The Gospel Goes Forward
